This is not a place specifically for salsa dancing; it is a night club that has Latin music on Saturdays in one of their rooms. Club Downtown has a few rooms inside, that have different type of music. The room where they play Latin music is fairly large. The dance floor is about 5 times the size of the floor at the Pepin, or about half the size of the dance floor at Dave and Busters. Around the dance floor there are couches and chairs. More experienced dancers occupy the dance floor, while some people are just sitting around the perimeter, watching the crowd. It seems like the majority of the people at this place do know how to dance. The ratio of the people who came to dance versus the people who came to drink or just to hang out, I would estimate at about 90% dancers with about 10% being a non-dancing crowd.

The dance floor is big enough to fit all the people that want to dance. It has space for dancing without bumping in other people up until midnight. After 12am it does get crowded.

It is not dress to impress kind of place, but they do have a strict dress code. It is posted at the entrance to the club.

The music that is played at this room of the club is bachata, merengue, salsa, and a little bit of cumbia as well. They play them by the blocks of about 30 min each (30 min of merengue in a row, 30 min of bachata, etc).

There does not seem to be any free parking lot next to the club. On the side streets where the parking is free all the spaces are taken, and for a free parking you may need to park a block away from the club.

As with any nightclub you have to be at least 21 to get in and the cover charge is $10.
