Latin night overview
This studio has been open since June 2014. They teach different types of dances during the week. Monday and Tuesday are Latin nights. Tuesday is a Latin night with basics of various Latin dances being taught. There is a 45-minute beginner class that starts at 7:30 pm with social dancing after the lesson. The cost is $5. Parking space is right in front of the studio and there are no age restrictions to get in.
Monday was planned as a salsa night. At the time this blog post was written, the Monday salsa class had not started yet and was scheduled to begin on September 8th. It was planned as a one-hour class with a $5 cost, held every Monday night at 6:30 pm.
Salsa Rueda Lesson
This type of salsa dance goes by a few similar names: Casino Rueda, Salsa Rueda, Rueda de Casino, and Salsa Rueda de Casino. This dance is performed in a circle and characterized by frequent change of partners. The moves are called out by one person, with sometimes hand gestures being used as an ancillary way of communication in the venues where the noise is too loud and the calls cannot be heard.
The instructor planned for this class was Stephen Gaona (his picture above). At the time this post was written, the class had not yet started, so there was no other information available. This post can be updated if more current class details become available.

i don’t think this class is currently still going in 2024.
but there is another “rueda de casino” class on mondays, in mesa az at 8pm. I go to it and it’s super fun, taught by a cuban teacher.
